PSC Lifeboatman Refresher
Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats
This 2-day USCG & STCW approved course is for mariners who have previously taken a Proficiency in Survival Craft course and cannot document 360 days of sea time in the last 5 years. Training objectives: -Steer and give appropriate oar commands. -Preparation and safe launch and recovery of survival craft. -Correct use of personal safety equipment. -Correct use of all locating devices; including communication, signaling devices, and pyrotechnics. -Management of survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship. A comprehensive practical training assessment involving all aspects of launching, operating, and recovery of lifeboats is conducted using our on-site roller track gravity davit. Successful participation in and completion of all aspects of the practical training, assessment, and written exam is required to pass the course.
