Our 32-Hour Advanced Fire Fighting course is USCG and STCW approved. In it you will learn…

* Advanced firefighting tactics and strategy
* Ventilation
* Large hose line handling

* Confined space rescue

The live fire-training portion of this course is conducted at the Washington State Fire Training Academy. Using their ship and engine room mockup facility you get excellent hands on training extinguishing Class A and Class B fires in realistic environments. The WSFTA instructors are fire fighters with years of maritime experience.

The Scuttlebutt:

Any applicant who has successfully completed our 32-hour Advanced Fire Fighting course will satisfy the Advanced Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code and 46 CFR 11/202(b)(2); and the Advanced Fire fighting training requirements of 46 CFR 11.205(d) and 11.401(g)(1) for a license.

What to bring:

When you take this course you will need to be prepared with some basic items: 1. For fire fighting we recommend levis/sweatpants and a t-shirt to wear under the bunker gear (synthetic clothing, tank tops and/or shorts are not recommended). A change of clothes is also recommended. A tight seal on the facemask is a must and a requirement for participation. Bring a sack lunch and water.

Overall the course was excellent! It is tough to find anything to improve with your courses!
