Using their ship and engine room mockup facility you get excellent hands on training extinguishing Class A and Class B fires in realistic environments. The WSFTA instructors are fire fighters with years of maritime experience.
The Scuttlebutt:
What to bring:
When you take this course you will need to be prepared with some basic items: 1. For fire fighting we recommend sweatpants and a t-shirt to wear under the bunker gear (synthetic clothing, tank tops and/or shorts are not recommended). A change of clothes is also recommended. A tight seal on the facemask is a must and a requirement for participation. Bring a sack lunch and water.
Overall the course was excellent! It is though to find anything to improve with you courses!
