Ratings Forming Part of a Navigation Watch (RFPNW) Assessments Only
RFPNW Assessments Only is for mariners who currently hold their National Qualified Rating for Able Seaman, and are seeking a National to STCW Crossover for employment on vessels subject to STCW endorsements. Mariners MUST meet the following criteria:
Hold a National Able Seaman rating with STCW endorsements for Basic Training (Basic Safety Training) and VPDSD.
Mariner assessments will be conducted on the Transas, Navi-Trainer Professional 5000 (NTPRO 5000)Mini-Bridge simulator. A mariner should be familiar with the demonstrations / assessments requirements found in NVIC 06-14. Lack of understanding or proper demonstration of the requirements may incur an additional cost or training.
Assessments are conducted by a USCG Qualified Assessor
