Personal Safety & Social Responsibilites

Whether taken as part of BST or as a standalone module this 4-hour course is designed for all mariners with safety or pollution prevention duties. A trainee successfully completing this course will be able to comply with emergency procedures, take precautions to prevent pollution of the marine environment, observe safe working practices, understand orders and be understood in relation to shipboard duties, and contribute to effective human relationships on board ship.

The Scuttlebutt:

Any mariner who successfully completes this PSSR course satisfies the Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities competencies of Table A- VI/1-4 of the STCW Code as amended, and 46 CFR 11.202(b)(4).
